Parental Requirements
Co-op is a lot of work, but you get back what you put into it. The rewards of our work are many. Intangible benefits include social activities, a support network of people in similar positions, and friends you can really count on. Parental requirements are:
- New family orientation (2+ hours)
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid training and certification
- Weekly shift work (4+ hours)
- Emergency back-up shift duty (1-2 sign-ups per quarter)
- New family fee ($100) and monthly dues ($100)
- Monthly General Meeting (2-3 hours)
- Babysitting during General Meeting (1-2 times per year)
- Active participation on one committee per parent per household (time varies)
- Cleaning three or four times a year (3-4 hours per time)
- Two work parties per year (4 hours each)
- Shift worker trainings (2 hours each, 2-4 times per year)
- Special events (potlucks, workshops, etc.)
